HealthEast is currently seeking a part-time Audiologist to join our growing team. This position is a 0.75FTE (60hrs ppd), Benefit Eligible opportunity.
100% outpatient clinic opportunity located in Maplewood
Hours are Mon-Fri, Days
Combination of Adult and Pediatric patient population
A fully integrated electronic medical record (Epic) is utilized
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Evaluates patients' audiologic function, interprets findings, and reviews test results w/patient or responsible adult.
Documents patients' case history, test results, and recommendations for follow-up in the medical record and reports results and recommendations to referring physician and/or primary care provider.
Evaluates and interpret test results for dizziness, vertigo, or imbalance. Performs and interprets electrophysiologic and special tests of the peripheral and central auditory system.
Performs Otoscopic examination for gross abnormalities of the external ear canal and tympanic membrane.
Counsels patients about treatment options for hearing loss and refers patients to ENT for consultation when appropriate. Counsels patients about management of chronic tinnitus. Educates patients about hearing conservation.
Evaluates infant hearing status w/ a comprehensive battery of tests. Evaluates patients hearing aids when appropriate and/or recommends hearing aid assessment and trial when appropriate.
Plans for the future direction of the audiology department including development of new programs and future equipment needs.
Oversees proper maintenance of all audiological equipment including arrangement of annual calibrations. Provides in-service presentations to staff as needed on topics pertinent to hearing health care. Assists the healthcare facility in providing public awareness of the role of Audiology.
Master's, Au.D. or Ph.D. in Audiology from an accredited university training program.
Licensure in Audiology through the MN Department of Health.
At least 1-3yrs experience as an Audiologist.
Experience with Pediatric Cochlear Implants highly preferred.
