Ear Nose and Throat Surgical Associates has been providing ear and hearing care in the Los Angeles area for over 75 years.
We are seeking a dynamic 4th year Au.D. extern. We have three staff audiologists, four ear nose and throat physicians and a hearing aid dispenser. This externship is well suited for those who seek a career in private practice medical audiology. The extern's schedule will include clinical diagnostics, hearing aid and technology evaluation, fitting, follow up, orientation, tinnitus management and aural rehabilitation. Besides daily patient care, the extern will also be assigned a one-year clinic project.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Extern must be able to perform diagnostic evaluations on a culturally diverse population. Extern must have a fundamental understanding of patient care and a true desire to serve all of those that require our services.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
At the conclusion of the externship it is expected the extern will be able; Write concise and relevant notes and reports. Provide exceptional care. Understand the necessity of verification and bench mark measures. Be able to navigate the myriad of referral sources and be able to know when and how to refer patient's out requiring additional services beyond our scope of practice.
