Arizona Ear Center is a private neurotology practice. We specialize in advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments for hearing loss and ear disorders. From our state of the art facility in downtown Phoenix, we help patients improve their quality of life by providing individualized treatment options in a comfortable, welcoming environment. Services we provide include: diagnostic audiology, counseling, evoked potentials, cochlear implants, bone anchored implants and Earlens. The audiologists and surgeon work collaboratively to optimize patient care.
Our partner practice, Arizona Hearing Center, is a private audiology practice located in the same building and additonal satellite locations in the area. The experience at Arizona Hearing Center will afford students exposure to all aspects of dispensing audiology including: counseling, traditional hearing aid fittings, Lyric, CROS and BiCROS, Earlens, real ear measures, marketing and daily business practices.
We are looking for colleagues who want to be excellent at the practice of audiology. This is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and exposure to both the medical and private practice aspects of audiology.
We are seeking highly motivated students dedicated to providing excellent hearing healthcare to join us for their externship. The experience will occur at both the hearing clinics and the neurotology practice.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Basic Audiometric Testing (including masking), Immittance Tests, Real Ear Measures, Earmold Impressions,Hearing Aids and Troubleshooting, Basic Counseling Skills, Evoked Potential Terminology and Understanding of Tests
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Increased speed of audiometric testing, assess candidacy for different hearing technologies, advanced counseling skills, effective hearing aid selection and counseling, improved skills with fitting and programming hearing aids, otoacoustic emissions, Auditory Brainstem Response, Implant programming and aural rehabilitation

Yes We regularly participate in studies sponsored by device manufacturers. Externs are also welcome to intiate their own research endeavor.
