The patient population they serve includes a broad variety of infants, children, adults, and geriatrics with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and bone anchored hearing devices.

Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
While at Happy Ears Hearing Center, your experience will provide you with confidence with the following; fitting hearing aid technology, patient centered counseling, and private practice experience (both in front office and the provider side). You will successfully create treatment plans for patients with various types of hearing loss. You will feel confident fitting the following devices: Lyric, Starkey, Oticon, Widex, Siemens, Unitron, ReSound and Phonak. Front office training is included in the experience and will provide you with knowledge and experience that is necessary to successfully run a private practice, including but not limited to:-Greeting Patients-Entering appointments in Sycle-Entering and making callbacks in Sycle-Outbound calling-Filling out repair forms and sending hearing aids in to the different manufacturers-Checking hearing aids into Sycle-Assembling hearing aids from different manufacturers prior to fitting appointment -Creating patient charts- Physician Marketing
