Wentworth Douglass Hospital (WDH), a subsidiary of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), is seeking a full time Audiologist, in Somersworth, NH.
Independently performs comprehensive professional audiologic services for the diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing-loss and diseases of the head and neck. Identification and diagnostic audiometry for description of hearing loss and diagnosis of diseases of the ear and central nervous system. Diagnostic evoked response audiometry. Hearing aid evaluation, fitting, and dispensing. Counseling, referral, and rehabilitation. Electrodiagnostic evaluations of ear disease and vestibular function. Recommend and provide audiologic rehabilitation--including speech reading, communication management, language development, and auditory skill development. Combines test results, original interpretations and professional recommendations into oral and written clinical reports to referring physicians and other professionals.
Provides direct assistance to patients by helping them to move about in order to perform tests and rehabilitative services. Supervises audiology assistants/technicians who provide support functions to the practice of audiology.
Master's Degree in Audiology required. Doctoral degree with a major in Audiology preferred.
One year of professional full-time work experience (including traineeship), preferably in an otolaryngology office setting or hospital. Experience with diagnostic audiologic testing of patients of all ages.
NH license to practice Audiology Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
