The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery & Communicative Disorders, Program in Audiology is seeking applicants for a tenure or term- track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. This is a 12 month full time position with a preferred start date of January 2, 2018. The School of Medicine allows faculty members a personalized path toward tenure with an emphasis in either research, teaching, or clinic. The Program of Audiology is an Au.D. only program; the only Au.D. program within the state of Kentucky. Primary responsibilities include: teaching audiology doctoral level courses, mentoring student research, and student advising. The opportunity to provide direct clinical service while also mentoring students is available dependent upon interest. The Program is housed within the Health Sciences Campus in downtown Louisville. Opportunities for multidisciplinary interactions abound. Currently, 30+ Au.D. students are enrolled.
Faculty within the Program in Audiology have the opportunity to provide clinical service (and recruit research participants) alongside our otolaryngology and speech language pathology colleagues within the School of Medicine faculty private practice. Clinical services are provided in a downtown and suburban location, and beginning in 2018 we will also provide services in a state-of-the-art pediatric outpatient center. This center will be a foundation of interdisciplinary and innovative pediatric care and will undoubtedly foster a creative clinical research environment. Additional clinical sites are numerous including acute care hospitals, a major pediatric hospital, two V.A. hospitals, a school for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, and private practices.
Preference will be given to candidates 1) with teaching, clinic, and/or research interests in areas that compliment current Program strengths, 2) ability to mentor student research, and 3) who have the CCC-A, and are eligible for a Kentucky License in Audiology. Applicants with either a Ph.D. and/or Au.D. are welcome to apply. Questions about the position and/or the application process may be directed to Dr. Jill Preminger, email@example.com
