Audiology Associates of Redding is a 32-year-old private practice who provides a full range of diagnostic and preventative hearing services. We specialize in diagnostic audiology, hearing aids, tinnitus evaluations and management, and aural rehabilitation. Cochlear implant evaluations and programming is being integrated into our practice this year. Working with our two highly trained CCC-A audiologists and hearing aid dispenser to serve patients of all ages, we will be sure to guarantee our next extern with a diverse clinical experience!

Externs are expected to be able to perform diagnostic audiograms, and immitance testing independently upon starting. Externs will be observed until a satisfactory level of competence is reached before working independently with patients.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
-comprehensive diagnostic audiograms -immitance testing (tymp/reflexes/OAEs) -hearing aid consults -hearing aid fittings and follow ups -subjective and objective verification measures -ear mold impressions -troubleshooting and repair of hearing aids
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
-understanding of the operations of a private practice -perform audit of business plan to assess for efficiency and growth of practice -participate in marketing strategies and community outreach -cochlear implant evaluations and programming -CAPD screenings -Tinnitus counseling skills -consistency in performing aural rehabilitation for all hearing aid patients
