We are a relaxed, 2 location private practice in south metro-Atlanta seeking a 4th year extern to begin in May/June 2017. We see all ages and perform all diagnostic testing from OAEs and ABR to VNG to APD testing.
We are very highly diagnostic with referrals from local ENTs, Primary Care Doctors, the Cancer Treatment Center, and the hospital for failed newborn hearing screenings.
We also fit and service all brands of hearing aids.
In this position, you would gain a very dynamic experience in regards to all aspects of private practice, testing, hearing aids, and patient population treated.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
- Basic competency in audiological testing- Basic knowledge of hearing aid fittings- Basic knowledge of hearing aid troubleshooting- People skills- Good ability to talk to the hearing impaired- Ability to make basic hearing aid recommendations
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
- Expertise at diagnostic testing- Expertise at hearing aid recommendations- Expertise at all hearing aid brands / software
