Our clinic is offering a month full time 4th year Au.D. Externship position. We are a thriving private practice in the Cartersville area seeking a 4th year extern. Currently we are the largest private practice audiology group in Tennessee with offices in Georgia and have 8 Au.D. audiologists on staff. The student accepted into this externship can expect experiences with adult diagnostic audiology and amplification. The 4th year Audiology student will work with several Doctorate level Audiologists.
We do work with the big 6 manufacturers and you will receive ample experience fitting, programming and repairing Signia, Phonak, Lyric, Oticon, Widex, Resound, Unitron and Starkey hearing aids.
In this position, you will gain a vey dynamic experience in regards to all aspects of private practice, testing, hearing aids and adult patient population treated.
The student will receive a salary. Applicants are expected to have health and liability insurance through his/her university and will receive no medical, dental or liability benefits from our clinic.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
-Standard audiometric test -Hearing aid dispensing and programming -Accurate ear mold impressions -Accurate report writing skills
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
-The ability to translate the audiometric test results and case history to selecting and fitting appropriate technology and other diagnostic recommendations. -Complete in-office repair of hearing aids -Timely completion of documentation and reports -Provision of appropriate counseling -Develop strong communication skills with patients and exhibit a strong work ethic and sense of professionalism.
