Presbyterian Ear Institute (PEI), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Albuquerque, NM, assists people with hearing loss to better listen and speak and integrate into mainstream society. The Institute provides a comprehensive approach to the early diagnosis, intervention, education and rehabilitation of deafness. Programs include: Early Identification, Parent Infant Program, Cochlear Implant Program, Speech and Language Therapy Program and PEI School for Oral Deaf Education.
Presbyterian Ear Institute is seeking an experienced Audiologist. The person will provide a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services for children with some limited services for adults. Must be willing to do some light traveling for outreach.
Diagnostic hearing tests on adults and children
Auditory brainstem response testing on newborns
Hearing aid fitting and verification
Cochlear implant services for adults and children
Increasing the number of referrals
Participation on state advisory panel
Presentations to community agencies and at conferences
The audiologist will be expected to collaborate with the School for Oral Deaf Education’s Principal, speech pathologists, and doctors as well as agencies throughout the community and nationally.
Doctorate of Audiology
Prefer three years of experience
Prefer pediatric experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills; Good listening skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work both autonomously and as a team member
