This position involves working in two diverse settings. The first setting is in a fast paced ENT/Audiology clinic at a county-based facility spread between two locations: Martinez and Pittsburg, CA; one day per week at each location. This setting provides access to a diverse population of patients from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Knowledge of or fluency in Spanish is a tremendous advantage.
2-3 days per week involve working at a brand new free standing audiology office in Danville, CA.
This position will start as two days per week at the external county based clinics and will involve a 90 day probation period. During the first 90 days, candidate will add in 1-2 additional days at the home office.
Upon the successful completion of the probationary period, candidate will have the opportunity to become a benefitted employee.
Daily tasks and responsibilities
Establish rapport with, and gather history from, patients; conduct audiometric testing; counsel patients; and make recommendations for hearing aids.
Make ear impressions and order hearing instruments.
Program hearing aids using a PC.
Fit hearing aids and assist with any adjustments, questions or problems.
Troubleshoot and provide simple repairs on hearing instruments.
Maintain documentation and patient files.
Masters Degree in Audiology ; Au.D. is preferred.
Active and current California dispensing audiology license in good standing.
