The ENT Center of Central Georgia and the Georgia Hearing Institute are looking for 4th year doctoral students for our 2018-2019 academic year. Our practices combined have 7 board certified otolaryngologists and 4 full time audiologists and two part time audiologists. We have offices in Macon and Warner Robins. Our practice provides all of Middle Georgia with the most comprehensive ear, nose, and throat services for infants to geriatrics.
Our practice is looking for two doctoral level students who are ready for a fast paced environment that changes from day to day. Our schedules allow students to see the entire scope of audiology throughout their year with us. Our students are provided the opportunity to learn and perfect the following for children to adults: diagnostic testing, immittance testing, hearing aid evaluation/fitting/adjustments, cochlear implant evaluation/programing, vestibular evaluation, central auditory processing testing, custom ear protection products, diagnostic ABR and threshold ABR testing, and electrocochleography testing.
The middle Georgia area is home to the Cherry Blossom Festival, music's' greats such as Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers, amazing peaches and much more!
The applicant is required to submit the following items: Graduate transcripts, resume, letter of intent, 3 letters of recommendation and questionnaire provided by the facility (please email if interested).
The applicant should have a strong foundation in audiology and hearing sciences with a willingness to learn. We are looking for applicants who are flexible and want to work with patients from birth to geriatrics.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
We expect students to have mastered diagnostic audiometric testing on adults. It is also expected that students have familiarity with hearing aids (troubleshooting, fitting, and adjusting). Students should be comfortable with otoscopy, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emission testing.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:

Yes We encourage all students to take part in all on site continuing education as well as larger conferences as it is a necessary part of the field.

Yes Our physicians and audiologists perform procedures at the Children's Hospital, Medical Center of Central Georgia and the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

The communication required by the university changes between universities. We are willing to work with all universities to fulfill the needs for the students.
