South Carolina ENT is a large ENT practice with 9 physicians and at least five physician’s assistant/ nurse practioners with seven office locations in Columbia and the surrounding areas. South Carolina ENT has been the Columbia area's premier provider of comprehensive ear, nose and throat care for over 15 years and continues to grow. Our Audiology Department is well-suited for a 4th Year Externship as we offer a wide variety of services for all age groups. Our Audiology services include basic comprehensive audiometry, ABR, OAE, ECochG, bone anchored device management, and hearing device dispensing with all populations. We seek a self-driven, organized, and enthusiastic extern eager to work in a team environment in a fast-paced practice.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
•Experience with diagnostic audiology (pediatric and adult) including masking of air and bone conduction. •Working knowledge of ABR, VNG, & ECOG. •Familiarity with advanced hearing aid technology. •General understanding of hearing aid fine tuning. •Ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians & supervisors.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
•Mastery of Diagnostic audiology (pediatric and adult) with appropriate masking. •Newborn hearing screenings •Mastery of ABR, VNG, & ECOG evaluations •Appropriate selection, dispensing, and troubleshooting of hearing aid technology. •Professional and clear interaction with patients, physicians, & supervisors. •Mastery of chart documentation using electronic medical records.
