The Audiology Department of Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida is seeking a bright, motivated, reliable, and flexible fourth year extern with a desire to become a pediatric audiologist. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a quick rapport are a must. More than one pediatric practicum placement is highly favored. Our clinical setting is fast paced and demanding with our own audiology patients while supporting busy ENT clinics. Services include behavioral measures, immittance testing, OAE testing, electrophysiological studies, auditory processing evaluations, traditional amplification, BAHA and cochlear implant services for children birth through 21 years with varying degrees of medical complexity. The extern will be placed with a primary preceptor but will work with different subspecialty audiologists in various locations. This is a full time clinical position.

Prior to the June, 2019 start date of the externship an affiliation agreement between Nemours Children's Hospital and your university must be signed.
Affiliation with an accredited AuD program and 3 years of didactic instruction
Completion of at least one pediatric rotation

4 letters of recommendation (2 must be clinical supervisors - pediatric supervisor preferred)
Pass the national Praxis prior to the beginning of the externship
High level of skill in various audiological assessments, treatment procedures, and case management pertaining to pediatric population
Confident fully independent pediatric clinician
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
