The Center for Hearing and Communication is looking for a strong student who is interested in our agency, a not for profit speech and hearing agency and desires a great deal of hearing aid experience. The extern will be performing diagnostics, hearing aid evaluations and fittings, will be in our dispensary several days a week and will receive a pediatric rotation and CAP testing experience. The extern additionally assists in speech therapy for toddlers as well as in our Communication’s Program for seniors. The extern may participate in hearing screenings for children on our mobile van. Lastly, a NY State hearing dispenser trainee license is required. A $15,000 stipend has been offered in the past and we hope to provide again this year. The extern will have regular holidays off and 2 weeks paid leave.
