East Valley Hearing Center is an exceptional audiology practice based in Mesa, Arizona for over 35 years. Our practice provides professional, diagnostic audiology and hearing aid services to patients ages four to 104 with a caring touch, Our emphasis is superior customer service and patient care delivered by doctors of Audiology that have a passion for providing a :Best Practices" approach to quality hearing healthcare. East Valley Hearing Center offers a wonderful working environment and is committed to providing professional growth for our 4th year students. We are also a certificate holder for the Audiology Preceptor Training Program (CH-AP)
The student will need to provide evidence of graduation from a 4 year college institution in Audiology / Communication Disorders or equivalent.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
The student should have a well rounded foundation and skill set on the basic mechanics of performing the range of diagnostic hearing tests along with an understanding of fitting amplification devices using real-ear analytics. Students should have good communication skills, have an ability to build rapport and be willing to take on a "learning perspective" in this 4th year experience with preceptors, the patient and their family members.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Students will be exposed, through hands on experience in diagnostic hearing evaluations using state of the art equipment including impedance/admittance audiometry, otoacoustic emissions along with extensive training on amplification devices, bluetooth and streaming devices, fitting, & dispensing using real-ear analysis, and appropriate patient orientation of the patient and family members with an understanding of various listening strategies. As a preceptor site certified through the ABA program (CH-AP), the student will have access to front office, marketing, insurance reimbursement and coding training as the student's interests dictate.

Yes Typically some CEU's from manufacturing training and some separate CEU's relating to the audiology field and practice management/software training.

Communication as appropriate with the school, re: quarterly evaluations, Typhon etc. Additional communication if there are performance and/or behavioral issues.
