Topeka Ear, Nose, and Throat is seeking a 4th year extern for the 2019/2020 academic year. Topeka ENT is a busy practice of 6 audiologists and 8 ENT physicians providing an excellent opportunity to learn.
We provide services to pediatric through geriatric patients in a medical clinical setting. Services include VRA, tympanometry, OAE, ABR, standard audiometric testing and vestibular testing. Some day travel may be required for staffing of outreach clinics.
Applicants must be a team player who has a strong desire to learn.
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
*Basic understanding of audiology testing including: *Air and bone conduction *masking *OAE's
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
*Firm knowledge of basic audiology testing *Ability to complete comprehensive vestibular evaluations *Hearing aid programming with verifit testing. *VRA testing *Conditioned Play testing

Topeka Ear Nose & Throat provides adult ENT and pediatric ENT patients with complete diagnosis, treatment and surgical services; as well as hearing exams, hearing aids, speech therapy, cutting-edge allergy treatments and dizziness disorder diagnosis and treatment. Topeka ENT also operates a Cleft Palate Clinic with surgical and therapy services. Today, the practice services central Kansas with offices in Topeka, Emporia and 10 satellite communities. Our staff is made up of seven ENT specialists and a full-service ENT staff that includes six audiologists, two speech pathologists, a physician assistant.
