Cornerstone Audiology is seeking to hire a hard working 4th year extern starting in May/June 2019. Externship is paid and will be supervised by an ASHA certified audiologist with vast clinical experience. He or she will receive hands on opportunities in comprehensive audiological testing as well as dispensing hearing aids from a variety of manufacturers including Lyric. Cornerstone Audiology is an established practice that is growing into new locations and is seeking someone who is looking to develop and grow with the company. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate high levels of skill in written and spoken communication and be performing at strong levels diagnostically. He or she will be joining a dynamic team of 5 audiologists (all ASHA certified) and 6 support staff who work together to serve patients each day in our multiple locations as well as our service center. We also partner with our local community to give back and take care of those in need with limited resources. Applicant must show initiative, possess integrity and be fun to work with. Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Applicant needs to be competent in diagnostic testing with ability to take a thorough case history, otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone air and bone, word rec, SRT, and Quicksin in 20 minutes. Also needs to be familiar with the basics of hearing aids and be able to take a good ear mold impression.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Efficiency in all audiological testing. Cerumen management. Lyric replacement, sizing and fitting. Cerumen management. Programming hearing aids, solving real world patient problems by improving their listening experience and their quality of life. Troubleshooting. Fast-paced clinical skills and customer service. Really getting to know your patients on a personal level and making a difference. Cerumen removal.
