Under the general direction of the SELPA Director or Designee, serve as an educational audiologist to school districts by: completing hearing evaluations and related reports; performing APD assessments and related accommodations for instruction; assisting students with hearing impairments with amplification and auditory skills; consulting with staff regarding auditory skills, issues, and instructional accommodations and methods. The Audiologist will serve infant children through young adults.
This position requires a master’s degree or higher in Audiology or a closely related subject from an accredited college or university, as well as experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team doing assessments, interpreting audiological evaluations, writing intervention plans, and providing family/staff consultation.
Candidates must hold either a valid CA Clinical/Rehabilitative Services - Audiology credential OR a valid CA Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential:
Applications will be considered for those individuals who are eligible for one of these credential types. The credential must be issued prior to the start of any assignment.
Additional Salary Information: $264.44 per day - $515.15 per day: Dependent on placement on SELPA Teacher Compensation Plan. Plus, Stipend Eligible! A stipend of $4,500, paid out after three (3) years of consecutive full-time service, shall be paid to unit members hired on or after July 1, 2018, who hold state certification and are employed as Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or Visually-Impaired. The stipend will be paid out at the completion of the third instructional year.
