All responsibilities will be under supervision by a specified AMG Audiologist Preceptor along with a close relationship with the Extern’s University Program. The Extern will work closely with the Audiologist Preceptor.
Testing and diagnosis of hearing which may include: audiometry, immittance testing, tinnitus evaluations, optoacoustic emissions testing and vestibular evaluations.
All testing will be administered according to AMG clinical best practice protocols and applicable state and federal laws.
Provide counseling and obtain pertinent information prior to and during the evaluation. Document all clinical notes according to AMG clinical protocols.
Analyze and interpret test results and then recommend best solutions for their hearing loss.
Consult with Supervisor Preceptor and/or Clinical Educators for challenging fittings.
During initial evaluation, perform demonstration of appropriate hearing technology.
Quote pricing from established pricing, less any advertised discounts.
Widex hearing technology to be dispensed 90% of time. If other manufacturing technology is needed, must obtain approval from Regional Director.
Counsel patients on financing options.
Explain warranty programs, repair prices and battery information.
Counsel on follow up, care, cleaning, service and the hearing journey.
Set follow up appointment for 1 week. Ensure that patient is called within 48 hours of fitting.
Maintain office appearance in conjunction with Patient Care Coordinator. Always consider the image of the office in the eyes of the patient. Office should be free of clutter and clean. All equipment should be used, including any sales tools provided by AMG.
Oversee regulatory compliance, including OSHA infection control regulations and HIPAA regulations. Must maintain active Audiology/Dispensing license.
4th Year in Audiology program at Approved University
Knowledge of software systems including: Sycle, NOAH, and Widex fitting software.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work efficiently with patient care coordinator.
Utilization of resources to enhance the patient journey include (but not limited to) developing relationship with Clinical Educator, working with Widex training staff, collaborating with regional and corporate team.
Patient journey oriented.
Must be able to attend AMG trainings as needed.
