The Department of Otolaryngology Division of Audiology at the University of Kentucky offers one 12-month full-time 4th year Au.D. externship. We seek highly-motivated individuals who will participate fully in a busy and challenging, but exceptional training environment. Applicants can expect a well-rounded clinical placement, offering experience with both the pediatric and adult population in a demanding and diverse outpatient clinic. Students will gain hands on experience in diagnostics, hearing aids, cochlear implants, auditory evoked potentials, auditory processing disorder evaluations, and vestibular testing.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Students should be comfortable completing a comprehensive audiometric evaluation. A previous rotation through an ENT clinic is recommended, though not mandatory.

After the application deadline on 9/15/2019, selected applicants will be invited to interview by phone. Final candidates will be invited to an on-site interview on 10/17/2019. Extern selection will be made by mid-November.

Additionally, there is a comprehensive cochlear implant program, which provides services to patients of all ages.
