Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute’s Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology located in central New Jersey will be accepting applications for 4th year Audiology Intern positions beginning Spring/Summer of 2020. Applications will be accepted between September 1st and October 1st 2019.
The ideal candidate would become an integral part of the Audiology team comprised of professionals dedicated to providing superior patient care.

Experience with EPIC EMR a plus but not required
Provide audiological/vestibular assessment for all age groups
Counsel and provide recommendations for hearing aids
Fitting and programming of hearing aids
Maintain documentation and patient files

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Basic audiological testing with both a pediatric and adult population. Hearing aids including real ear verification Exposure to vestibular testing Cochlear implant exposure a plus but not required
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Become competent in routine audiological procedures, hearing aids and vestibular assessments
Clinical opportunities that will be given to the extern:
Pediatric evaluations: infant/toddler
Pediatric evaluations: school-age
Adult hearing evaluations
Auditory processing evaluations
Evoked potential assessments
Intra-operative monitoring cases
Hearing aids dispensed
Hearing aid selection/fitting
Audiologic rehabilitation (group or individualized)

Consortium or collaborative arrangements with other sites?
How frequently will the externship site communicate with the university during the externship?
