Year-long 4th year externship placement. Arizona Hearing and Balance Center is a fast-paced Neurotology practice in the East Valley of Phoenix, serving both adult and pediatric patients. We have 4 full-time audiologists and 2 neurotologists. All audiologists maintain the CCC-A designation through ASHA. Care is provided across the age spectrum including audiologic evaluations, hearing aid fitting and follow-up care, Epley maneuvers, electrophyisiology, and cochlear implant and bone-anchored device evaluations and follow-up care.
Student ready for 4th year externship. Willingness to learn and work hard. Interests in a varied learning environment with significant interest in hearing aids and cochlear implants.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Basic audiometry, have a general knowledge of hearing aids, implants and electrophyisiology.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Gain confidence and comfort with fast-paced environment, hearing aid fittings/programming, cochlear implant evaluation and programming, ABRs and refine skills in counseling.

Typically we provide mid-semester and semester-end reviews.
