Oakdale Ear, Nose, & Throat is looking for a motivated, independent thinking 4th year extern to join our practice for the 2020-2021 academic year.
We are a busy ENT office that consists of 3 office locations, 4 physicians and 3 audiologists. We are a busy and fast-paced clinic, searching for a student with a strong work ethic, strong customer service skills, and a desire to learn.
This is a one year paid position (including paid time off) and will begin in May/June of 2020 and last through May/June of 2021.

Yes Extern's weekly schedule would be split between our three locations - our Robbinsdale office, our Maple Grove office, and Plymouth office.

Does the externship site provide orientation to relevant clinical policies and procedures?
Does the externship site provide instructions about patient's rights and providing patient education?
Does the externship site provide orientation to quality assessment, quality assurance and quality improvement?
Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
-Strong skills in otoscopy, immittance, air and bone conduction. -Experience with hearing aid selection, fitting and verification using real-ear measurements. -Experience with electrophysiologic assessment -Basic knowledge of hearing aid troubleshooting
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
-Improve in speed and accuracy of comprehensive evaluations of all ranges -Hearing loss counseling -Hearing aid evaluations and fittings with several manufacturers -Hearing aid troubleshooting -Real ear verification -Otoacoustic emission testing and interpretation

How frequently will the externship site communicate with the university during the externship?
