Private practice externship opportunity in beautiful TN!
Audiology & Hearing Center Cookeville-McMinnville is looking for a self-motivated 4th year Au.D. student to join our team 2020-2021.

Opportunity: This PAID externship is for students who are truly interested in private practice. This is a great opportunity to interact with 3 Doctors of Audiology in two locations. We see externs as important members of a collaborative team striving to do what is best for our patients. The ideal candidate is outgoing with strong communication skills and team oriented. Candidate should be passionate about helping others hear their best life. Well-versed in clinical hearing evaluations, hearing aid technology and aural rehabilitation. Tinnitus management, cochlear implant candidacy, otoacoustic emissions, tympanometry with reflexes, and REM are all part of our practice. Extern should be willing to learn office protocols and building on skills. We see all ages, mostly adults. Both offices have updated PC based audiometers and newer equipment.
You will learn all aspects of hearing care within private practice with a great team of mentors. There is opportunity for long-term career placement after graduation for ideal candidates. Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Strong skills completing full audiometric diagnostics, tymps/reflexes, DPOAEs and some familiarization with hearing aid technology, hearing aid fittings and REM preferred.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
- Increase speed and efficiency while testing - Improve counseling - Develop process for hearing aid fittings and aural rehab - Develop entrepreneurial skills and business sense - Learn in all areas of private practice
