During your externship with Torrance Audiology Center, you will work alongside Dr. Hu to advance your skills with testing (audiologic and VNG), results interpretation, counseling and follow-up techniques, and the basics of the insurance billing process.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Conduct comprehensive audiologic evaluation and impedence testing for adult population, VNG testing, basic hearing aid repair and troubleshooting, hearing aid programming and orientation, hearing aid verification (REM).
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Interpretation of audiologic and VNG test results, patient counseling, hearing aid consultation and subsequent care, pediatric audiologic evaluation, basic insurance billing process.

Adult hearing evaluations
Auditory processing evaluations
Evoked potential assessments
Intra-operative monitoring cases
Hearing aids dispensed
Hearing aid selection/fitting
Audiologic rehabilitation (group or individualized)
Cochlear implant evaluations
Cochlear implant rehabilitation
Consortium or collaborative arrangements with other sites?
