The Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences at California State University Northridge announces openings for one tenure-track appointment for an individual possessing an earned doctorate (Ph.D., Au.D., or equivalent) from an accredited institution in audiology, hearing and speech science, or closely related field, to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Audiology as well as Speech-Language Pathology.
The position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2020. ABD’s will be considered but should have completed the doctoral degree by August 21, 2020. Successful candidates should have a broad academic and clinical background that will qualify him or her to teach existing undergraduate audiology core courses as well as graduate courses for the Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) and to provide supervision for clinical services in audiology at the CSUN Language, Speech and Hearing Center. Evidence of recent clinical and/or research experience with pediatric populations is especially desirable.

The position requires possession of, or immediate eligibility to attain and hold, California licensure both in audiology and hearing aid dispensing, as well as the Certificate of Clinical Competence in audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Other related professional licenses and certificates are desirable. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment and ability to teach, mentor and work with a diverse student and faculty environment. Prior traditional face-to-face classroom and on-line teaching experience and prior use of platforms for instructional technology are highly desirable. Prior experience with teaching doctoral level students in the fields of Audiology and/or Speech-Language Pathology is highly desirable, as are abilities in a second language. CSUN is a Learning Centered University. The successful candidate will be expected to join faculty and staff in a commitment to active learning, to the assessment of learning outcomes, and to multiple pathways that enable students to graduate.
