The Pediatric Audiologist is a member of the Audiologyteamand reports directly to the Director of Audiology.The employee works closely with the Executive Director and other audiologists on staff to provide quality treatment options and customer satisfaction for clients of Blue Ridge Speech & Hearing Center.
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Doctorate level degree in Audiology, Virginia Audiology License and Virginia Hearing Aid Dealer License
Must have experience working with children and their families to assess hearing needs and provide appropriate treatment
Perform OAE’s, conditioned play audiometry and Real Ear verifications
Expert organizational and clerical skills, must be detail oriented and a multi-tasker
Knowledge of APD testing
Knowledge of CI evaluation and programming
Bilingual capabilities a plus.(Spanish/English)
AUDIOLOGY PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
To be the primary audiological service provider to clients under the age of 18.
With appropriate diagnostic protocols, evaluate the hearing of infants, children and adults
Fit appropriate hearing aids. Evaluate, troubleshoot and repair hearing aids
Evaluate, fit and troubleshoot FM systems
Serve as a liaison between BRSH and the Loudoun County Public Schools System to ensure compliance with the service contract and to assess the school system’s satisfaction
Provide APD and CI evaluations and refer patient for appropriate follow up care.
Make earmold impressions for hearing aids and swimplug/soundplugs.
Participate in Audiology team meetings and strategic planning
Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned
Attends and participates in community/public relations activities, fundraising events, and agency functions
Attends and participates in all staff and departmental meetings and retreats
Participates in training programs as needed to expand Center's job related skills (as approved)
