The department seeks a candidate with experience teaching and leading students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and expertise within CSD. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to lead a team toward goal achievement. Responsibilities include leading through democratic team building and promoting cohesiveness and a culture that values diverse views and perspectives. The department head leads and manages the department; collaborates on curricular and fiscal management; ongoing program review and development, evaluation, and accreditation; participates in student recruitment, admissions, advisement, evaluation, fundraising and alumni relations; mentors faculty in teaching, research, service, and grant writing; guides faculty and staff supervision and evaluation; participates in teaching, research, and service; and other duties as required.
• Terminal degree in Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology; Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or closely related discipline. • Evidence of high-quality teaching, research and service at a level appropriate to associate or full professor rank. • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and vision for the department. • Evidence managing financial resources within academic or organizational settings • Demonstration of management or leadership experience • Demonstration of commitment to diversity and equity
