The Loma Linda VA Healthcare System is searching for 4th year externship applicants with an anticipated start date of May/June of 2021. Externs will have the opportunity to participate in diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid fitting, hearing aid aftercare, progressive tinnitus management, VNG/Balance assessment, cochlear implants, osseo-integrated device fitting and aftercare, ABR, OAEs, innovation and process improvement projects (for example 3D scanning and 3D printing), as well as rotations in the Auditory Research Lab (both human and animal research activities).

Yes Off-site manufacturer trainings as available (with paid externship only). Students are also involved in all staff on-site trainings.

Yes Externs will have the opportunity to complete a rotation in one of the Auditory Research Labs at the Loma Linda VA as part of their externship. Currently, there are multiple labs with various auditory research activities in both humans and animals.

Additional Salary Information: Funding has been requested for 4th year externships. However, confirmation on whether positions will be funded is pending budget approval. Funded externships are also benefits eligible (medical,dental,sick-leave, vacation-leave, etc).
