We are a very busy ENT practice in Northern Michigan, with 3 locations: Petoskey (main office), Gaylord and Alpena. We have 1 full time audiologist in our Petoskey location and 1 full time audiologist in our Alpena location. We regularly perform diagnostic audiologic evaluations and dispense hearing aids on all ages. Cochlear implant evaluations, activations, and mapping, as well as infant hearing screening follow-ups are also performed on a routine basis. Our collaborative team is comprised of 3 ENT providers- 1 DO, 1 PA, and 1 NP, 2 audiologists, 2 audiology techs, and 5 support staff.

Yes Gaylord - once/week (about 30 minutes), Alpena (2 hours- occasional). Both locations can ride with other staff members.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:
Case history, behavioral audiometry on adults, earmold impressions, tympanograms, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions, basic hearing aid skills, basic report writing skills, basic counseling technique, understanding of electrophysiology
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Behavioral testing in children and toddlers, patient counseling, real ear measurements, cochlear implant evaluations, mapping, and activations, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fittings, hearing aid follow up appointments, newborn hearing screenings, ABR under sedations
