MHealth Fairview/Lions Children's Hearing & ENT Clinic is seeking a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) student for a 12 month externship.
The candidate should be motivated, flexible, willing to grow their clinical skills and a strong team player. Together, with our adult clinic at MHealth Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center, we provide a unique externship that will include 10 months in the Lions Children's Hearing & ENT Clinic with peds and then 2 months in the Clinics and Surgery Center with adults.
*One or more pediatric practicum placements
*Competency in adult diagnostics and amplification
*Obtain temporary audiology license prior to start date

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:

Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
*Independently perform testing including: otoscopy, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, hearing evaluations using conventional, BOA, VRA and CPA techniques, speech testing, DPOAEs, ABR (sedated and unsedated). *Independently perform listening checks and troubleshooting of amplification and perform hearing aid consultations, fittings and follow up programming. *Gain competence in cochlear implant candidacy, evaluations, initial activation and follow up programming. *Independently provide patient, family and caregiver education and counseling using unbiased and clear messages. *Gain competence in how to bill for services and complete all written documentation required for our clinic.
