Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | Diagnostic testing for adults including audiometry and tympanometry, hearing aid evaluation and selection, some counseling skills |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | -Diagnostic testing for adults--audiometry, ultra high frequency audiometry, acoustic immittance measures, DPOAEs, speech-in-noise testing (QUICK-SIN) -VNG assessments including diagnosis and treatment of BPPV -Tinnitus management -Counseling/Aural Rehabilitation and Patient Education -Hearing aid evaluation, selection, and fitting--including verification measures (real ear, test box, and sound field) -Familiarity with ALDs -Report writing -Cochlear implant evaluations |
