This position provides cochlear implantation services including hearing aid dispensing as it relates to cochlear implantation and audiologic services to a diversified patient population in the Department of Otolaryngology, UC Davis Medical Center. Incumbent will provide direct patient care in the above stated areas and other such duties as may be assigned related to clinical audiologic services. Presently incumbent will provide audiologic services at the UC Davis Health Glassrock Clinic.
California State Dispensing Audiologist License or Audiologist License or eligible for licensure.
Clinical experience necessary to evaluate hearing in a diverse patient population including pediatrics.
Clinical experience necessary for evaluating, mapping, and troubleshooting all three cochlear implant manufacturer’s devices in a diverse patient population including pediatrics.
Professional education and clinical experience necessary to interpret the results of audiologic evaluations and assess individual patients’ needs for other services including amplification.
Experience operating audiologic equipment, including, but not limited to, two channel audiometers, middle ear analyzers, otoacoustic emissions equipment, hearing aid analyzers, and ABR/ASSR equipment.
Skillset to perform hearing aid evaluations and fittings as it relates to cochlear implantation.
Skillset to perform in-office repairs and modifications on ear molds and hearing aids.
Effective communications skills with patients and their families, alongside with physicians and other health care providers.
Organization skills necessary to maintain accurate records related to patient care.
3 -5 years cochlear implant experience.
Currently paneled by California Children’s Services (CCS).
Must be able to work overtime and variable hours when necessary.
Must be flexible to cover other areas of clinic.
Works with co-workers, patients and physicians in a professional manner.
Respects privacy and confidentiality of others.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Expected to understand and comply with the UCDHS and Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
