The Division of Audiology at Penn Medicine is offering a 12-month 4th-year Doctor of Audiology externship position.
We are a fast-paced clinic within a medical setting, primarily serving an adult population. We offer a well-rounded externship experience with a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services including: amplification, implantable devices, and vestibular testing. The externship is offered at our main location at Perelman Center of Advanced Medicine. More information regarding our practice can be found at: https://www.pennmedicine.org/for-patients-and-visitors/find-a-program-or-service/ear-nose-and-throat/general-audiology
We seek motivated applicants with diverse range of clinical experience, who are team players.
Please note that while most of clinicians are ASHA certified, there are a few providers that do not hold their CCC-As. The extern should expect to work with all preceptors through the year. Obtaining ASHA certification after our externship year has not been a previous issue, however, required ASHA hours under certified providers is not guaranteed.
This is a non-paying clinical training position.
Placement is pending the establishment of a student affiliation agreement between Penn Medicine and the respective program. Upon a candidate's acceptance of the position, the program will be required to provide a list of the year's clinical goals and objectives. The student affiliation agreement must be executed prior to the externship start date.
Per hospital policy, the extern will be required to provide the following: background check & child abuse clearance, immunization records (including flu and Covid 19 vaccine)
