Audiology Fourth Year Externship 2023-2024
The Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology within Duke University Health System offers a 12 month full-time 4th year Au.D. externship. Applicants can expect a well-rounded clinical placement, offering experience in both pediatric and adult populations in a demanding and diverse environment. Students will serve patients within a large hospital-based outpatient clinic, the main-campus inpatient hospital, and the Children's Health Center (all locations are in Durham, NC). Students will gain hands-on experience in diagnostics, auditory evoked potentials, auditory processing disorder evaluations, NICU hearing screens, tinnitus evaluation/management, hearing aids, bone conduction hearing aids, intra-operative monitoring, and aural rehabilitation.
