Clinical Audiologist
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audiologist to join our team. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating hearing and balance disorders through administration and interpretation of a variety of diagnostic audiological and vestibular exams in patients of all ages. You will work closely with patients, their families, and our physicians to develop customized treatment plans that best meet the patient’s hearing healthcare needs and provide ongoing support and care to ensure the best possible outcomes.
We are a busy otolaryngology and audiology practice of 3 physicians, 1 nurse practitioner, 1 full-time and 1 part-time audiologist, and an audiology assistant that cover the full spectrum of ear pathology including hearing and vestibular impairments. Our main audiology clinics are in Columbus and Starkville, MS.
The Golden Triangle of Mississippi, encompassing the cities of Columbus, Starkville, and West Point, has a population of over 128,000 and 500,000 workers are within 60 miles of the region. The region is known for its strong economic growth and development, particularly in the areas of aerospace, manufacturing, and technology. Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive hearing and balance evaluations on patients of all ages, including pure-tone and speech audiometry, OAEs, ABR, tympanometry, and balance testing including ECoG, VEMP, and VNG as necessary
Interpret test results and provide accurate diagnoses of hearing and balance disorders
Develop customized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals, including hearing aid selection, fitting, and troubleshooting, cochlear implant and BAHA referrals to subspecialists, and balance rehabilitation
Provide ongoing support and counseling on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing disorders to patients and their families throughout the diagnostic and treatment process
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results, treatment plans, and progress notes in Athenahealth and Noah and input any associated charges
Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote hearing health and awareness
Answer calls to the audiology department and respond to any voicemails, schedule audiology patient appointments, complete hearing aid repair and dispensing forms, and keep necessary supplies stocked in work areas in conjunction with the audiology assistant

Professional Requirements:
Master’s in Audiology, Doctor of Audiology (AuD), or PhD degree from an accredited institution
Ability to obtain and retain MS State licensure and insurance credentialing as an Audiologist
Strong diagnostic and treatment skills, with the ability to work with patients of all ages
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, their families, and colleagues despite hearing or speech issues
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple patient cases simultaneously
Proficiency in using audiology diagnostic equipment and software
Self-Sufficient, team-player, hardworking, competent, confident, and patient
Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills to work with small equipment, such as hearing aids and ear molds.
The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, stretch, lift, grasp, and walk in order to spend a significant amount of time performing tests and working with patients in a clinical setting.
The ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, such as audiometers, otoscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and with proper speaking etiquette with patients and their families, including those with speech or hearing impairments
Must have sufficient hearing and visual acuity to be able to accurately receive detailed information through oral communication, interpret test results, and diagnose hearing and balance disorders.
