The Greenville VA CBOC in Greenville, South Carolina is excited to offer a funded 4th-year Audiology Externship for 2024-2025. This is a 12-month, full-time (2080 hours), funded externship with an anticipated start date of May/June/July 2024. CCC-A supervised hours will be available.
The Greenville VA CBOC is a short drive to downtown Greenville which offers a variety of both indoor & outdoor activities including: an extensive amount of culinary experiences, walking/biking trails , the Greenville Zoo, the Greenville Drive Minor League Baseball Stadium, and much more (https://www.visitgreenvillesc.com/)! We are also within a short driving distance to a multitude of outdoor adventures in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Greenville VA CBOC is a part of the Columbia VA Health Care System. The Columbia VA Health Care System Audiology Clinic has a total staff of 12 Audiologists and 4 Health Technicians. Externs will complete the majority of their training at the Greenville VA CBOC (4 audiologists & 1 health technician), but will have opportunities to rotate through the WJB Dorn VAMC (main hospital in Columbia, SC) as well as the CBOC in Anderson, SC.
The Audiology Clinic provides clinical opportunities including: audiologic assessments, amplification, vestibular evaluations, auditory evoked potentials, tinnitus management, and tele-audiology. The externship may also allow for interdisciplinary training opportunities within the Physical Therapy Clinic, Eye Clinic, and Polytrauma Team.
