Audiology 4th Year Paid Externship for Private Otolaryngology- Audiology Practice Michael P. Bernstein, MD LLC Enfield, CT.
Dr. Michael P. Bernstein is offering a full-time 4th Year Audiology Externship position. We are a private physician owned Ear, Nose, Throat and Audiology practice that currently has a paid externship opportunity located in Enfield, CT that will be available for May/June 2024 to May 2025.
As a privately owned practice, the audiology extern will have the best opportunity to work alongside Dr. Bernstein, MD as well as Sarah Verteramo, Au.D, FAAA, CCC-A to gain insight into the complex experience of the patient from learning and observation of procedures and audiological evaluations. Dr. Verteramo, our on-site licensed Doctor of Audiology who will be responsible for supervising this externship. The student will be responsible for a wide range of diagnostic services for patients of all ages. Our office participates in hearing aid evaluations, dizziness evaluations, tinnitus evaluations, programming and dispensing of hearing aids, retrocochlear ABR’s, and working with state-based programs such as the Bureau of Rehabilitation services to provide hearing aids to those working throughout CT. New technology learning opportunities are also provided.
Extern is expected to have mastered basic diagnostic audiology evaluations prior to acceptance such as:
Experience with patients of all ages.
Confidence in a fast-paced environment
Good report writing skills
Basic audiology foundation
Demonstrate ability to manage patients independently
Basic hearing aid experience.
Your externship at this practice will gain you stronger basic clinical skills dealing with a full range of diagnosis obtained by testing. This opportunity will provide you how to manage, asses, evaluate, and relate those findings with your patient. Strengthen your ability to work with your patient in the assessment, fitting and programing of many styles of hearing aids for the ultimate achievement and comfort of hearing for your patient. This position will also teach you how to handle and manage a full caseload independently.
A salary is offered as well as accrued PTO with some paid holidays.
