HearSmart Audiology is an autonomous, successful private practice in Littleton, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, which offers diagnostic hearing evaluations using state-of-the-art equipment including immittance and oto-acoustic emissions; amplification including hearing aid consultations, fitting, dispensing and electroacoustic verification; bone anchored hearing aids (baha); cochlear implant evaluations and map optimization for Cochlear Americas and Advanced Bionics; hearing conservation including custom ear molds and musician's plugs, etc. We care for patients of all ages. We are contracted with many health insurance companies.
The mission of HearSmart Audiology is to provide comprehensive audiology care to all ages of the population with the goals being to increase access to sound, improve communication and obtain a pathway to education, which leads to a more productive and satisfying life journey.
The owner, audiologist Megan D. Ford, AuD has been practicing since 1998 and has over 25 years’ experience supervising graduate students. Dr. Ford is the founder and primary facilitator of Hear My Dreams support group for parents of children with hearing loss. She was an adjunct professor at Northeastern University and taught a course called Professional Practice in Audiology at the graduate level.
A former audiology Extern, Dr. Richard Selleck is now a full time audiologist on staff at HearSmart Audiology and is also available for student supervision. Dr. Selleck brings with him his recent experience and understanding of the skills needed to have a successful Audiology Externship with us.

In addition to a well-rounded foundation and understanding of the field of audiology, applicants should have great communication skills, the ability to build a rapport with patients and families, good organizational skills and a passion for helping others.

At the end of the year, students will graduate with extensive experience in diagnostic hearing evaluations using state-of-the-art equipment including immittance and oto-acoustic emissions; amplification including hearing aid consultations, fitting, dispensing and electroacoustic verification; bone anchored hearing aids (baha); cochlear implant evaluations and map optimization. Additionally, you will be trained in front office skills as well as receive experience in coding and billing with an understanding of the complex topic of insurance reimbursement. Open and clear communication is made with all staff regarding the management of a private practice in audiology.
