Applications are invited for a 12-month, full-time, term-track Assistant Professor position within the Program of Audiology, Division of Communicative Disorders, Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Communicative Disorders, University of Louisville School of Medicine. This is a full-time position beginning August 1, 2024, with an earlier start date negotiable. Salary is commensurate with background and experience.
Position Responsibilities:
As part of our vision and commitment to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to 1) teach coursework and mentor graduate students in research capstone projects (~50% effort, negotiable) and 2) provide clinical services and graduate clinical supervision (~50% effort, negotiable). The candidate will also be expected to participate in faculty meetings, admissions, and other program service responsibilities.
Program Information
The Division of Communicative Disorders includes the programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The Audiology program at the University of Louisville developed and implemented one of the first Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree programs in the country. The program is located in the heart of the University of Louisville Health Sciences Campus and provides an exciting educational experience in a dynamic medical environment. Approximately 40 graduate students are currently enrolled in the Au.D. program. The Program has six full-time academic faculty and works with seven primary full-and part-time clinicians, operating several clinical sites in the Medical Center complex in downtown and suburban Louisville, KY.

Candidate must hold a doctoral degree in Audiology (PhD or AuD with experience in an academic setting preferred, ABD considered pending completion of degree requirements), or a related field, by Fall 2024.
The Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) and eligibility for state licensure are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with successful university teaching
Interprofessional work experience in a medical setting
Graduate clinician supervision experience
Teaching and/or clinical experience/expertise in genetics, amplification, clinical techniques/diagnostics, professional issues in audiology (licensure, etc.) and practice management (All areas of teaching experience will be considered!).
