U of WA LEND Pediatric Audiology and Research Externship
The Audiology Externship at the University of Washington provides audiology graduate clinicians extensive experiences in pediatric audiological care as well as pediatric hearing research. Externs participate in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program at the Center on Human Development and Disability. The UW Center on Human Development and Disability (CHDD) provides a wide range of services to infants, children, adolescents and young adults including comprehensive diagnostic evaluations using behavioral hearing assessments, otoacoustic emissions, middle ear measures, and brainstem auditory evoked brainstem response testing. Infants and children are fit with hearing aids and other hearing technologies and receive regular follow-up at CH
