University of Miami Ear Institute Externship
The University of Miami Ear Institute is in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Miller School of Medicine. Our externship offers comprehensive experience in adult and pediatric audiology, including diagnostic evaluation, fitting, and rehabilitation. Diagnostic procedures include the basic pure-tone and speech battery, immittance, otoacoustic emissions, vestibular, and evoked potential procedures. The facility also fits traditional and implantable hearing devices as well as hybrid, and bimodal cochlear implants. Externs will have the opportunity to participate in aural rehabilitation and auditory/verbal therapy for hearing aid and cochlear implant users.
