The University of Miami (LEND) externship, with the Departments of Pediatrics and Otolaryngology, offers comprehensive experience in pediatric audiology, including diagnostic evaluation, fitting, and rehabilitation, with focus on Leadership Development in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) for 300 clock hours. Diagnostic procedures include pure-tone and speech audiometry, immittance, otoacoustic emissions, vestibular, and evoked potential procedures. The facility also fits traditional and implantable (cochlear and acoustic) hearing devices as well as hybrid, and bimodal cochlear implants. Externs will have the opportunity to participate in aural rehabilitation and auditory/verbal therapy for hearing aid and cochlear implant users. Externs will have exposure to multidiscipl
