Travel to satellite centers required? | Yes We have 15 office locations. Our externs have a primary location to which they will go each day. Primary locations could go as far North as The Woodlands and as far South as Clearlake so it is important to live centrally. Very occasional travel to other clinics to assist with coverage may be required. |

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | Although we understand that this is an ongoing learning process and we do not expect mastery of skills prior to externship starting, it is expected that students are working toward competency on the following skills: obtaining thorough case history, behavioral audiometry with adults, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, basic hearing aid skills including troubleshooting, fine tuning, selection and fitting of hearing devices |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | In addition to the skills listed above that will be mastered by the end of your externship year, you will also be proficient at pediatric behavioral testing, hearing aid consults/fittings/programming, BAHA fittings/programming, initial testing for cochlear implant candidacy, VNG interpretation, Electrophysiologic testing (ABR, VEMPS, ECochGs) |
