Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | Basic audiological evaluation and interpretation, conventional audiometry, tympanometry, otoscopy. Exposure to VRA, CPA. Exposure to electronic medical records systems and basic report writing. |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | Working toward independent practice and mastery in all objectives. Counseling and integrating test results in a meaningful manner to a patient. Mastery of audiology evaluations, hearing aid selection, programming, repairs & maintenance. Demonstrate strong communication ability in term of charting and sharing info with other providers. |
