Swedish Medical Group invites applications for a fourth-year student externship position in Audiology to begin summer 2024. This position is available for 12 months and a stipend is not available. The Audiology Extern will rotate through four clinical sites in the Seattle area under the supervision of multiple audiologists.
Clinic services include:
Audiometric evaluation for pediatric and adult populations
Hearing aid consultation, fitting and follow-up (primarily adults but also includes pediatric patients)
Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) (newborn and adult populations)
Ototoxic monitoring
Possibility for Osseo integrated device consultation, fitting and follow-up (primarily adults)
Possibility for Cochlear implant evaluation, programming, and follow-up
Possibility for vestibular services (at least VEMP, VNG, ECOG)
Locations: Swedish Audiology Services is located in Washington State at First Hill, Cherry Hill and Ballard campuses in Seattle and on the Issaquah Highlands campus in Issaquah.

Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited AuD program and have completed all University requirements prior to being placed in an externship/4th year site. The ideal candidate will function well in a fast-paced environment under a variety of supervisory styles and demonstrate outstanding communication skills in addition to being detail oriented. The candidate will be required to travel to multiple clinics in Seattle and Issaquah, Washington and should therefore have reliable transportation or willingness to commute via public transit.
