MHealth Fairview/Lions Children's Hearing & ENT Clinic is seeking a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) student for a full time (12 month), pediatric-focused 4th year externship. Our goal is to prepare you to feel confident and competent to begin a career in pediatric audiology.

Lions Children's Hearing & ENT Clinic has 6 full time audiologists and provides a full range of audiology services for birth to age 21 including: diagnostic hearing evaluations, electrophysiology, hearing aids, bone conduction devices and cochlear implants.

Additionally, we work closely with the 9 audiologists at the Clinics and Surgery Center that provides a full range of audiology services for adults including: diagnostic hearing evaluations, vestibular assessment, electrophysiology, cochlear implants, hearing aids and osseo-integrated devices.

We are excited to again have the unique opportunity to include a short rotation of this externship in the adult outpatient clinic. We believe this gives the extern a wide range of experience in adjusting to different age populations.

Interested individuals should be flexible, highly motivated, self-directed and possess a strong interest in working with children.

State date- early June 2025

End date- end of May 2026

One or more pediatric clinical placements
Mastery in otoscopy, tympanometry, reflex testing, air and bone conduction
Experience with VRA and CPA as primary and secondary tester
Experience with hearing aid selection, fitting and verification using real-ear measures
Experience with electrophysiologic assessment
Strong writing skills

*Independence in VRA, CPA, OAE and ABR testing and interpretation
*Independence in hearing aid troubleshooting, selection, fitting and verification
*Competence in cochlear implant candidacy and programming
*Competence in applying critical thinking to outcomes-based management of patients.
