Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | Comfort with hearing evaluations, that include VRA, CPA, and conventional testing & hearing aids (technology, problem solving, fitting, dispensing), highly-motivated, eager to learn, professionalism. |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | Extern will gain experience and refine clinical skills in all areas of pediatric audiological assessments and treatment that is provided at the site. More focus may be given on specific areas based on student interest and goals. By the end of the externship, the student will have gained confidence and independence in audiological skills. |
