Audiologists at UF Health Shands offer a range of services, including diagnostic evaluations for hearing and balance, electrophysiology tests (e.g., ABR, ASSR, OAEs), cochlear implant services, osseointegrated device services, adult and pediatric hearing aids, and newborn hearing screenings. To make an impact as an audiologist at UF Health Shands, you will:
Collaborate closely with UF Health Otolaryngology physicians to deliver patient-centered care.
Provide aural rehabilitation across all ages and preventive measures against hearing loss through hearing protective devices and education.
Assess and interpret patient data to provide age-specific care according to established policies and procedures.
Help prevent hearing loss, including fitting hearing protective devices, advising on noise impact and offering consumer education.
To achieve excellence in this full-time role, we’re looking for:
A license to practice in Florida.
A Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) or PhD.
Must be licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
A certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Experience with growth and development principles across life spans and an ability to adapt care to age-specific patient needs based on departmental policies.
Solid understanding of the principles of growth and development across a patient’s life span.
Proven knowledge and skills to assess and manage auditory, balance and other neural system disorders.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services and settings.
